Panagiota Koltsida is a senior software engineer / researcher, graduated from the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and she has also received a M.Sc. on Advanced Information Systems from the same department. She has been working for more than 10 years in several research projects on behalf of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the Athena Research and Innovation Center and CITE: Diligent, D4Science, iMarine, EarthServer, Blue Bridge, RDA Europe and CAPSELLA. She is experienced in managing all stages of large scaled distributed software implementation, starting from requirement’s analysis, up to design, builds, deployment and testing. She has been the technical manager of the ATHENA research team in the EarthServer and Blue Bridge projects and is currently the technical manager of the CAPSELLA project. Her research interests include Information Retrieval systems, Data and Metadata Management and Web Information Systems and her technological expertise includes Java, XML and web related technologies.
