Pros-Eleusis is a research project funded through the NSRF Research Create Innovate program. Pros-Eleusis (Personalized RouteS in Eleusis) is an innovative approach to the enrichment of the tourist experience. It consists of two elements; an ecomuseum, and the development of a technological tool that will enable us to offer personalized tours of the hosting place.

The selection of Eleusis as the 2021 “European Capital of Culture” is the perfect opportunity for the launch of Pros-Eleusis in the real-world conditions of a location that faces certain challenges but has also numerous inherent possibilities for tourist development.

The objectives of Pros-Eleusis are defined based on three desirable outcomes and are consistent with the national strategy on research and innovation in the tourism industry:

1. Differentiating the Greek tourist product by having the development of experiential tourism as its main axis.
2. Improving the competitiveness and quality of the services provided by businesses in the tourism and cultural sectors, by utilizing information and communication technologies.
3. Transferring technical know-how from researchers to business and utilizing the results of said research in the tourism and cultural sector.
