Job description

CITE is growing and looking to expand its workforce with DevOps engineers willing to enter an inclusive, innovation led, fast moving environment that promotes evolution of the individual with the support of the team while working with state-of-the-art tools and platforms.

Candidates will have the opportunity to work on multi-partner or large clients' projects in modern frameworks and platforms, with great opportunities for building and evolving their knowledge and career.

Joining CITE, one will have the opportunity design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance, manage CI/CD pipelines, investigate and resolve technical issues, perform root cause analysis for production errors, deploy updates and fixes, implement integrations, build and setup new development tools and infrastructure, work on ways to automate and improve development and release processes, ensure that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats, work with the development teams and stakeholders to ensure that development follows established processes, be included in project planning and involved in project management decisions.

The following position levels are open:

·         Junior DevOps engineer.

·         Experienced DevOps engineer / Team Leader.

Positions refer to Athens premises of CITE, however candidates may opt for Sparta, where CITE has a local branch.

Field-specific qualifications and skills

·         Good knowledge of at least one CI/CD system (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLabCI/CD, Azure Pipelines, AWS CodePipeline, etc).

·         Good knowledge on process automation tools (e.g., shell scripting, ansible, etc).

·         Good grasp of system administration tasks.

·         Good understanding of containerization technologies (Docker, Docker Compose).

·         Familiarity with container orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker Swarm, etc)

·         Familiarity with Cloud native computing, approaches, and technologies.

·         Good understanding of security principles and best practices.

·         Good knowledge of SQL, practiced on a major RDBMS.

·         Software development skills in at least one major platform.

·         Strong problem-solving skills.

·         Attention to detail.

·         Ability to communicate orally and in writing. 

·         Ability to collaborate in small or large management and implementation groups.

Selected candidates will be subject to one or more tests to verify their skill level on technologies they declare to be competent in.

Level-specific qualifications and skills

For Junior DevOps Engineers:

·         At least one project on the technologies claimed (thesis, lab, personal, work) is required.

·         Highest education degree specializing on Informatics (Bachelor's or Master's) is required.

For Experienced Developers:

·         At least two (2) years of related professional experience is required.

·         Highest education degree specializing on Informatics (Bachelor's or Master's) is required.

·         Experience in software quality assurance procedures and frameworks is required.

·         The ability to lead teams is highly welcome.

Other appreciated qualifications and skills

The following qualifications / skills are appreciated, if present, for all applicants:

·         Certifications in technologies of relevance.

·         Familiarity with additional technologies and software design and implementation practices.

·         Experience in test design and management (stress, performance, security, verification).
